Ski Trip in Kõrvemaa

The hike starts in the parking lot of the Sportland Kõrvemaa Hiking and Skiing Centre, from where you move on together in a box of 6×6 ZIL 131-type military trucks, which have been specially adapted for passenger transport. The box has a cover with windows, so the view is guaranteed and the cold temperatures outside are not too bothersome. If necessary, blankets are distributed to participants, making the experience enjoyable even in cold winter weather. With 4 ZIL 131-type military trucks at our disposal, we can take more than 100 people on a hike at the same time.

The ski trip begins at the edge of Koitjärvi or Kõnnu bog, from where an exciting approximately 4–6 kilometre (longer if desired) ski trip starts under the guidance of a hiking guide. For the bog trip we have up to 100 pairs of wide touring skis ready, the bindings of which are suitable for sports overshoes. A qualified guide accompanies the hike, providing an overview of the history and peculiarities of the Kõrvemaa nature area while ensuring that every hiker leaves with a positive memory.

After a couple of hours of leisurely skiing in winter nature, we arrive at the campsite, where a fire is lit and hot tea and hiking soup are served. If desired, sausages can be grilled over the open campfire. Special side lighting has been installed on the trucks, making the surroundings visible even in the dark — so the trip can also take place in the evening if desired, with headlamps provided to all participants.

After the campfire stop, we start the journey back, and there is still plenty to see and discover on the way. The ski trip can also take place in the dark if desired or needed: the evening bog view may be weaker, but the emotion and atmosphere are even stronger.
