Dinghy Trip – Soft Rafting

Every boat trip we organise starts with a briefing, where we explain the boat handling techniques and talk about safety. To ensure safety, the briefing is followed by putting on the life jackets, and then we set off on the river. It is a social and safe way of travelling on water — sociable because 4 to 10 people can be in one boat at the same time, and safe because these boats are so big and stable that it is impossible to capsize them on rivers. The worst that can happen is that the boat gets stuck on a rock in a rapid, in which case the boat has to be pulled free and the adventure continues. We recommend the Keila, Jägala, Võhandu, and Narva rivers, as these have been checked and cleared by us.

Keila River is convenient because it is close to Tallinn: the trip starts at Jõgisoo and ends in Keila. On the Jägala River, the suitable area is around Voose.

• Võhandu is Estonia’s king of hiking rivers. The route starts at Leevi and ends at Süvahavva or Reo bridge, passing mill dams, rapids, and sandstone outcrops.
• Narva is a large border river with width and current. It requires advance coordination with border guards and a permit, and works best for larger groups. Herman Events accompanies the group in a motorized rubber boat for safety and border compliance.
